Charming day, nothing to do. That's always the best way of making sure you get everything done. Having nothing to do.

I dusted off my old Ultima IX: Ascension. Inspired by the sensational U10 picture. Ultima X: Odyssey. I hope that's a new single player game. I don't care if Richard Garriot isn't involved and EA ruins everything and so on and so forth. I want a new single player Ultima anyway. But it's probably an online mmmorpg or whatever it's called. Damnit. Okay, I know I just lost 99,9% of my readers. But that's okay. It's not like I'm in it for the hits.

Anyway, started playing u9 again with the fan patch. I never completed it like that. It makes so many improvements to the story. Origin really should have just let the fans make the game. Looking at this page makes me weep. Pictures of the original ultima 9. Sob. I so wish they would have used this engine instead of the swanky 3d engine. Sure it's beautiful but if they had used that old isometric engine instead and used just text instead of full speech then they could have made such a great game. Or maybe they would have still ruined it, who knows. Lord British must be turning in his grave.

Okay, that should make it 100%. I don't care. The Ultima series holds a great deal of magic to me, I like Britannia better than Earth. Top 10 signs you're delusional.

Another of my delusional illusions is a disappointment in humanity's space travel. Why aren't we going more places now? Sure, it's cool that we've been to the moon but I really think we need to get some more space programs going. And I mean real ones. Not just sending a probe to Mars to see if there's water. We need to start getting people out to explore the galaxy. We need som astronauts who aren't afraid to die. Put them on a big space ship with lots of food and machines that turn urine into evian and maybe a goat or two and then blast that spaceship out into space, pointed at the other end of the universe. A one way ticket. See how far they can get before they disappear off our radars. Or whatever you use in deep space. This is what we need. I would volunteer too. I have been watching too much Star Trek: Entreprise lately. My greatest wish at the moment is getting a job on a starship. I don't want to be the hero, I don't have to be the commander medical science officer person. I just want to do menial labour and live on a starship. This is why we need to get the space program going. I can't wait until 2134. I'll be too old. Or possibly dead (unless we get the expected medical advances and stuff). We need to start sending out big freighters and starships and we need to make some alien contact. I don't think we're working hard enough on this. Everybody wants to stop pollution and war and sickness and make the Earth a better place. I say: screw that. Instead of working on making Earth better we should be working on getting the hell out of here. Find a nice new planet and start fresh there. We could leave all the evil people behind on Earth too. Then we wouldn't have to deal with all the bad stuff. And if we still found a way of messing up our new planet, who cares? We'll just go to the next one. Eventually we'll evolve into a breed of fierce intergalactic warriors roaming the star systems looking for innocent planets to take advantage of. Use once and destroy. That doesn't have to only go for people, we can apply it to planets too.

And me, I'll be living a quiet life on an interstellar cruiser. No important duties, nothing too exciting. At most I could hope to be the anonymous ensign who gets killed by some alien race. Either that or just living a long boring life, watching the stars go by in my spare time.
