Where everybody knows your name

Oops, it's late. I must write an entry. I got distracted by the fact that I HAVE VACATION! Yeeeeah. Also, I found an Amiga gamespack for my pc so I'm on a retro high. Arkanoid, baby!

But vacation is the main dealio, of course. I made it. I survived. Weet.

I'm quite happy with how it's gone at the new workplace actually. I have been able to handle everything. The work. Answering the phone. Coming in every day. That's the main thing. Coming in and staying 9-14 every day. That might not sound like a lot to most people, but it is to me. And this is the first time in a long, long, long while that I have been able to actually work those hours. When I worked at the Barn I could go home whenever I wanted to practically, I would often leave around 11. At the Reva center I stayed longer, but I almost never stayed till 14.30, which was my official time. Usually I could go in the gym and do a workout and then slip home. But now at Kulturgyngen I am actually staying the full hours that I'm supposed to. That's really good. That's a step in the right direction, in the direction of getting a normal life with a normal job. I hope I can keep it up next year, when my hours will increase. I'm sure I can though. It's gone well and I'm happy with it.

But now I'm just going to relax for two weeks. Expect boring updates from now on! Well, that won't be much of a change then. But still.

The last day at work went fine. One of the guys behind the bar actually called me "a regular". I came up to get my glass of lemonade, and before I could even ask for it he had gotten a glass and asked "lemonade?". I said yup and he said "that's the benifit of being a regular". Aw. They consider me a regular. That's so sweet. It's like Cheers, only without the alcohol. I think next year I'm going to ask them to shout out "PLUUUUME" when I go up there to get my lemonade. You know, like Norm. You did watch Cheers, right? It was a big show back in the old days when we watched black & white telly in between the dinosaur huntings.

I managed to say a nice goodbye to everyone at the office. Jan has been sick for a while so I didn't see him. But I said merry christmas to Sanne, Poul Erik, Lars and Christian. There's a christmas party on Tuesday, but I'm not going to go. There are too many people I don't know and there will be too much alcohol involved. So I'm going to skip that and see them all next year.

Now back to Arkanoid!
