smashing pumpkins at christmas

Just for the record, my mother is fine. She waited 3-4 hours at the hospital just to be told to go to her own doctor and have him look at it. So I gather it was nothing too bad with her eye.

And in other news: my glasses are ready. Finally. I'll go pick them up tomorrow. How exciting. A whole new face, more or less. I'm looking quite forward to it. Not looking forward to paying though. Must buy presents for Skye too. And for mother. November/December will have been quite costly for me this year. But oh well. What is money for if not for spending? A poor man still deserves to be loved.

Work went fine. Sanne still sick. The booker gave me the timetable for January. Only 6 items. That's not a lot. I hope more will be added soon. It's going to be a pretty empty flyer and poster if there are only 6 dates on them.

I picked green. The colour choice is practically the only design decision to make. Other than that it's just pretty routine. No worries.

After work I stopped in Favorit and bought the paper, and also some bread. And then I swinged round the playground to talk with the animals.

It never takes Blackie long to come around. Especially if you're carrying a bag. He's right there, sniffing around for food. I was trying to unpack the bread but he was so eager, he wouldn't wait. He got up on his hind legs, almost greeting me like you'd see a dog do when it comes up on two legs and starts licking its owner. Except Blackie was more interested in my bag I think.

It's always great to see him. I haven't seen Kees or Mother Goat in months though. Maybe they're inside. But the lambs and horsies were there. I used to call that one Mr Horse, but now it has a baby horsey and I've seen baby horsey drinking from the big horse. What's that called? Suckling? Nursing? I'm not sure.

Cute little things.

As I walked away I put on the mp3 player. With my Eels mix. And what was playing? Mr E's Beautiful Blues. "Goddamn right, it's a beautiful day". Perfect. I like it when my mp3 player is cooperative like that. They should invent an intelligent mp3 player, one that could decide what the right song to suit the moment would be. Hmm, I wonder if I should patent that idea. Just to be sure.

Now, almost weekend. New glasses tomorrow. Two weeks till vacation. Goddamn right.

Life Begins Again. Hmm.
