Go Go Goat!

So I went to talk to doctor Michael today. He's a nice doctor. And I got a little closure, like I wanted. I guess there's nothing to do about my tiredness. Nothing medical. I just have to get in better shape and solve my social problems.

Just.

I still wouldn't be surprised if I have some rare disease that the hormonal tests don't show. Yes. Isn't there something called chronic fatigue syndrome?

Oh well. Better accept it. It's hard work from now on. Must get fit and mentally healthy. No problemo.

He did take some blood samples again though. Hormonal things, but I don't expect anything to come from that.

He recommended a Danish weight consultant group. It's actually the same group that has helped my mother lose weight, so I'll probably try that. See if they can help me. After vacation though. I need a break now. Then I'll get back to things afterwards.

Vacation now, deal with things later.

Or well, vacation soon. One week to go.

After seeing the doctor I did a little bit of shopping. I bought these. Handheld ventilators. What a marvelous invention! They're going to come in handy when the heat comes back. I can bring them everywhere. Instant coolness. Of the cold kind. A wounding blow to my mortal enemy, the sun. Take that!

Then I went to work for a little while. Packed wine racks. Yawned. On my way home I did a little shopping again. And went by the playground. To say hi to the sheep and goats. I didn't stay too long this time. But it was still great.

They were in a new enclosure this time. With a fence that went all the way round. As soon as I got there they all started running up to the fence to greet me. Well, I think some kids had been feeding them just before I got there. So they were probably hoping that I had goodies for them too.

And guess what Blackie did? Yes, he jumped the fence again! Hehe. He came running towards me with the others. And then he just jumped over. He's so cute. He's easily my favourite. Okay, maybe he's not entirely black and I have no idea if he's a he or a she. But he's still my favourite and I will call him Blackie.

goats and boy

I'm not the only one who likes him. It's a great place that playground. You can just make out the ghetto blocks in the background, over the trees. Lots of second generation immigrants, troubled neighbourhood. It must be really good for the kids to be able to go down and have fun with the animals and be in the green spots. And the goats like company I think.

And they're hungry too. All I have seen the sheep and goats do is eat grass. Oh and occasionaly pee when there's a camera around. Blackie was very interested in my bags too. You can see them lying in the background there. I had three plastic bags. One with my Tolkien biography and bottles from work. One with my fitness clothes that I was bringing home for laundry. And the last one with food and drinks from Favorit. So he was sniffing away at those. At one point I had my hands full with my camera and I couldn't pick up the bags and Blackie was going for them fast so I had to sort of block him and use my body to keep him away. Hehe. He was looking at me like he was thinking "What are you doing? I wanna know what's in them bags. Is it something I can eat? Is it? Is it?". I am smitten with him. He's just so much fun. He's the only goat that jumps over fences to be with me.

Although father goat looks like he's thinking about it too.

I should go by that place every day. It's not a bad idea really. When I get off the bus at the stop at Favorit I have a 20-25 minute walk home, but that would probably do me good. To have that every day. And then I could walk by the sheepies and goats and say hi. I should think about it. It's not like my time is so valuable. And seeing them makes me happy.

The lovelies.

Today was the day for Denmark's second game at the European Championship. Against Bulgaria. It wasn't really a great game. But we won 2-0 so it's not looking too bad now. Jesper Grønkjær scored. He definitely deserved that. He joined the squad late after his mother's burial. That's strength of character that is.

Right now Italy is beating Sweden (with two Brøndby players on the pitch). So that will mean Denmark and Italy lead the group with 4 points each. And Sweden has 3. Our last game is against Sweden. The big scandinavian battle. Italy will probably beat Bulgaria in their last game so the Sweden-Denmark game will decide which of the two brother countries will go through. That will be quite an exciting game.

But enough about that. It's time to go enjoy my weekend soon. I wanted to mention something musical first though. There's a Leonard Cohen tribute record out in Denmark. The interesting thing is that the songs have been translated into Danish. Kind of bizarre. It caught my eye because my old classmate Tina Dickow is on it. She does a Danish version of Halleluja together with veteran Danish singer Steffen Brandt. You can give it a listen on this page. In the box that says "LYT". There are three songs from the album, the last one is Steffen Brandt/Tina Dickow. Of course if you aren't Danish then you will only understand the chorus. Halleluja. But isn't that a great chorus too? I love that part. It does get to me somewhat. I'm not a religious person at all, but still there's something about it.

The more I listen to it the more beautiful I find it. Give it a go, even if it's just to check out the heresy of a Cohen lyric translated into Danish.

And that's all he wrote.
