35 pines

Wooohooo. Guess whose keyboard works now?

Oh come on, it's not that hard to guess.

It's meeeee!

Mine. I mean. My?

Oh whatever.

Important thing is: I fixed it! I opened it up (which isn't as easy as it sounds) and then I took a wet cloth and separeted things and wiped and cleaned. And wouldn't ya know it, it worked. Didn't even soak it or buy a new one. I'm sort of proud. I fixed it. Shut up, I don't care if that's no big feat. It is to me.

So now I'm typing like there's no tomorrow. And you don't have to see anymore sentences like this: Zo I thought thåt i would fIND the zebraz in heåt.

Greeeat.

And continuing with the theme of good news: I can connect to prohosting again. This means there's a chance for my Smashing Pumpkins Song of the Day site (plug plug). Unfortunately there's still uploading problems. My ftp program says "device out of space" or something like that. Even though I'm uploading to an empty 50mb account. Luckily I have an old accout on one of their other servers and I can upload there fine. So it's a problem with their new server. They have different servers. They better fix the new one. That's where almost all my accounts are. This is very boring. Go download one of the songs instead. Lover is the newest one. I remember when I got the live version of it a long time ago. It was called One Less Moment back then. It was one of the best songs I'd ever heard, one the eye openers of how great it is to be a smashing pumpkins fan and have internet access. It's a brilliant song. Have you downloaded it yet? I'll keep typing till you've done it. There's no escape.

Oh all right. You're off the hook.

It just feeeeels soooo gooood to be able to type without thinking about what letters you're supposed to use and what letters you can't use. I no longer have to type "sa" and then delete the "s" when I want to type "a". It's greåt.

I feel so free. Plus I don't have to go shopping tomorrow on a busy easteropen saturday in a shopping mall in a ghetto. That works for me.

Thought for food

There is bad news for me though. I'm being forced to upgrade from 56k modem to dsl. The pain. The pain of it all. I think I'll just quit computers and go live in the countryside like a happy drifter.

No. I think I'll get dsl and laugh at all you people stuck with slow connections. Mwahahahahahahah.

And I only laugh like that because I know things will blow up in my face and I'll be severely punished for being optimistic about something technological.

But I'm sure you're wondering why I'm being forced to upgrade? Well, I'll tell you anyway. A couple of days ago I got a letter from my internet providers. The product I'm subscribing to at the moment will be terminated on May 15th. At the moment I'm able to be online as much as I want for a set price. After May 15th I'll be able to be online 8 hours every day for the same price. So basically they're saying "You get to pay the same for less online time!". I'm so happy about that...

I'm sure 8 hours is enough for most. But not for me. I need to download music all the time. I need to be online. And so does my brother when he's here. And my mother when she gets the chance. We're an online family. As sad as that may be. But 8 hours wouldn't be enough.

My providers would be nice enough to let me continue with the current terms until they're ready to provide dsl for me sometime in july. But I don't really like their dsl offer. So basically I'm going to quit them and sign on with the big national tele company. Because they offer to come and set things up for you in your home if you get dsl from them. And frankly I don't like the idea of getting network cards, router and all that jazz and then trying to set it up myself. I know I'd kill every single component in my computer. So tuesday or wednesday I'll order dsl from the big and pretty much hated national tele company. And then it'll take up to 3 months... sigh. So I'll probably need to go for a couple of months on the "8 hours" plan. But if I survive that then I should be on the high speed online information super highway to hell. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. It's times like these that I'm glad the "a" button works. I want dsl. I'm scared to death at the thougt of upgrading and firewalls and stuff. But I want high speed. I want it bad.

And I'm just waiting for something to go wrong...

But still. I can think of worse things then being forced to upgrade to a high speed connection. I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Hehehehehe.

Speaking of internet providers. I never paid my first one. When I got this computer it came with an internet package. I used it for a month or two I think. But they never sent me the contract to sign. And they never sent me any bills. I like their way of doing business.

That was back in the old days when I paid per minute. I never want to go back to that. Unless of course they'd consider not sending the bills. Then I might.

Yeah, this was all fascinating I know. I wonder if it would've been better with z's and å's?

Nah probably not.

And in the end does it really matter? I mean REALLY matter?

We'll all be the same in the end.
