clix?

A lot of assembly required

Mkrakkkkle.

I think I'm Garfield. I hate Mondays. Monday mornings specifically. Have I mentioned that already?

Blank page. Was all the rage never meant to say anything?

Mmmm. I love Adore. I have moved some of my music to my new computer. But things are complicated. Because I want to back up all my concerts. But I have so many that I have to convert them to a lower bitrate before burning them to disc. Quality schmuality. I want quantity. So all day and all of the night I have my old computer running CDex, converting all the concerts to a lower bitrate. And then I'll burn them. And only when that's all done will I be ready to move my external hard drive from the old computer to the new. And when that's done then I'll have all my music and stuff here at the new computer. It takes time. Too much time. But at least I have time. I am not timeless. I can sit and watch the minutes roll by and I don't have to scream "OH MY GOD WHERE DID YESTERDAY GO?!?!?!?". I am truly blessed by father time and mother earth.

I am yours alone. Yours alone

Mmmm. I love Adore era concerts.

As you can tell my attention is still absorbed by the new computer. I'm liking it. I'm loving it. Everything is so smooth. Windows closes probably. Things don't hang or stutter. I don't have to run scandisk half the time. It's good. And I managed to solve a couple of my issues from yesterday. Tadaa, shortcut to the desktop. And I can now run ultima 9 as a limited user. With the "run as..." option. I'm not sure that's really the best way to do it, but it works at least. I can play the game without being the administrative user.

And I have gotten some of the essential programs and codecs and such. Rebuilding. I'm a little worried about my Word files. I don't have Word on this computer. I don't know if I can use the program discs that came with my old computer. That was for Windows 98. And I don't even know if it's possible to install Word from it on a second machine. I can use wordpad of course, but I'm not sure my Word documents will suit me on that. But I'll see.

I'm sure you have all been waiting for pictures of the new computer.

Well, I'll show you anyway.

It has two USB ports on the front. How extremely handy for my digital camera. And 2 more on the back. That'll be handy for my external hard drive.

The pictures:

number one. Very, very bright. I just wanted a picture of Windows XP starting up for the very first time.

number two. Bright too. The larger picture. You can see all the mess that still remains. Like the old dirty mouse mat. If you're Skye then you might notice the absence of two good looking speakers. The picture in the ad had speakers. But the computer I got don't. They're built into the screen. I guess that's handier, but the quality would probably be better with proper speakers. But quality schmuality again. I guess to make up for the missing speakers the salesman person gave me a pack with a cordless keyboard and mouse. I'm not sure I was actually supposed to get that. As you can see I used the keyboard and mouse that came with the computer itself. I might install the cordless stuff some time. But with the flatscreen there is so much room that I don't really mind the cables.

In the midst of all the excitement of the new computer I forgot to mention that I received a postcard from Jeanine. Weet. Thank you muchly. If there are any people out there what hasn't (I love that sentence construction... what hasn't) sent me a postcard you really should check out the postcard left on the link. Put a smile upon my face.

In a while crocodile.

Hooray.
