clix?
First things first, though. Today was the first day back at work after the easter vacation/sickness. It all went fine. Pretty good day. Lots to do. Some socializing. I actually initiated a conversation. Not a long conversation. Just something about Manuel, whether he had gotten a job or not. Nothing special. But I started it. There was silence. And then I said something. Me. The silent one. That might have been almost the first time ever. Well, probably not. But it is very rarely that I start conversations. I'm trying to get better at it. Making an effort to improve. And so far it's going pretty well. Yay me. It was a long day. And I was quite tired. But I didn't go straight home. I went to the playground. Another way in which I'm making an effort to improve myself. Instead of rushing home and sitting down in front of the computer or TV I stay out. It's a good thing. I stayed so long that my mother called me on my cell phone to hear where I was hehe. Just shows how unusual it is for me to actually stay out of my own free will. Of course "free will" is a silly term to use. What can free will do against Magnet?
I ask you. And I answer: "nothing". I had to go see him. He was lying like that when I came. He's less than two weeks old, only natural that he needs a break every now and then. But then this cute girl came and picked him up.
Aw adorable. Everybody loves Magnet. I talked to the supervisor guy again.
He's really nice. He said it was only natural that Magnet got tired because there were like 200 people who wanted to pick him up and cuddle him. Hehe. He also said that Magnet loves it. Being picked up and cuddled. Well, who wouldn't? They're building something.
You can see the four poles. That will be the corners I guess. I'm not sure what they're building. Some little enclosure maybe. For some of the animals. Or maybe a little playhouse for kids. I don't know, I guess I will see. I had a great time as always. Following Magnet around.
Following Mads and Mathilde. They were being sneaky again. Remember how they went into the horses' stables and ate the food there? Today they went into the bunny house and started eating the bunnies' hay.
Goats are funny. Mads got a sniff of some pineapple too.
And nothing could stop him then. The lambs were being their adorable selves too.
I cuddled the white one.
Aw. It was standing completely still. And I just petted it good. Nuzzled it's head. It was so sweet. It was like petting a little puppy or something. Brushing and scratching its head. Its head fit perfectly in my palm. And it just stood there and enjoyed it. Wonderful. Cuddled Magnet too. He sat down inside the goats' stables. Didn't want to bother him too much. But nuzzled his head too. Hehee. Like I said to the supervisor when he told me that 200 people had wanted to pick up Magnet: "Well, he is awfully hard to resist". Certainly.
I still wonder what Mathilde thinks of all the fuzz. That's the price you pay for having adorable offspring. It's cute when Magnet baahs too. It's sort of understated, quiet. Like he doesn't really know how to do it out loud. But sometimes you can tell he misses mommy and then he'll start baahing. And if they have been separated for a while then Mathilde will go look for him and start baahing too. It's quite sweet, when they go baahing after each other. Of course then the sheep start baahing too and inevitably some of the kids will think it's cute and start mimicking and soon the whole playground is full of animals and people going "baaah baaah maah maaah baaaahbaah". Good times. Hey, I'm almost an adult and sometimes I can't resist going baaah either. I love going there. But it's not just the baby animals. Really. Magnet and the baby sheepies are so cute it's almost too much. But I love seeing Mathilde and Mads too. One of the sweetest things is when I get Mathilde to come up to me and sniff my hand. I love that. Because she's so shy. It feels special when you get her to trust you enough. She's a sweet goat. You just have to give her some time. And a little food helps too of course.
All of a sudden Mads layed down!
Oh my gosh. I have never seen him doing that before. He was rolling in the sand! Fun. And sitting down too.
I don't think I've ever seen that before. He did cough once or twice, maybe he's a little tired. Or maybe he just liked basking in the sun. That's what the supervisor said. "What an idyllic scene. Lying in the sunshine".
I can't get enough of Magnet.
When I was getting ready to leave I guess Mathilde and Magnet were pretty tired too. They sat down together. I wish I was a goat. Just walking around, eating, being cuddled. That's the life. I made a couple of new videos. They are on the movie page. I wanted to capture the typical Mads and Mathilde moments. And I think it worked out pretty good. A video of Mads. A typical greeting from him. When sees me he comes up and he gets a good, strong cuddle. He's hoping for food of course but today I didn't have any for him. So he just tried to eat my coat, as always. And then a video of Mathilde. The completely different approach. You carefully get close but not too close. And let her take the iniative. She's looking for food too of course, sniffing my hand. Two very different encounters and two very typical ones. So check'em out if you feel like it. And don't forget the adorable Magnet clips. I downloaded them at work together with the clip of the baby sheepies and the old clip of Skye's Sascha. That's good stuff when you're feeling tired. A long day. But a good one. I got a postcard from Lindsay! Thank you, Lindsay. You remain ever the princess. And I have never known as much about the Parliament Buildings of Victoria as I do now! Sweet. What goes around, comes around. Finally, I wanted to mention that I have discovered Damien Rice. Mainly because of Novostella's mention of the Blower's Daughter. Since I hadn't brought over my old music to the new computer, I decided what the hey, let's check it out. And wow, that song is so beautiful. It's amazing really. Also I recognised the voice. I had heard it on Lost. They used his song Delicate in the ...In Translation episode. That's one of my favourite episodes of one of my favourite shows. And not only that, but the scene where they use Delicate is one of the most beautiful scenes I've seen on the telly. The end scene with Sun on the beach. The sunset and the song. One of my favourite scenes of one of my favourite episodes of one of my favourite shows. So now I'm a fan of Damien Rice. Check him out. If you haven't already. I'm usually late in discovering music. I'm sure every in the world got tired of him two years ago. And that's it. Tomorrow I got social therapy. So that'll be great too. clix
