Well, well. Well, well, well, well. And so on. I just say well a lot. You go and think life will settle back into a comfortable groove for a while. But no. You weather one storm and right around the corner lurks the hurricane.

I got an email today. From Jørn Gullach. Legal advisor of KODA. "KODA is a Danish society that administers Danish and international copyrights for composers, songwriters and music publishers, when their musical works are performed in public".

Dun dun dunnnn.

Yeah. Apparently it has come to their attention that there is music at the internet address dailysp.diaryland.com and plume.diaryland.com/mp3.html. And yadda yadda I'm breaking copyright laws. Cease and desist.

Bloody fudding herr.

I don't know much about law (the number one sentence you don't want to hear your lawyer say). But I don't get it. I'm just a little fudding nobody, sharing a little music with my friends. And fellow fans. It's all live music and demos. Nothing you can buy in the stores. How are they protecting the artist's interests by shutting me down? It makes me sick. I'm not putting up top 40 CDs for download. I'm not robbing anyone of anything. I'm not making a profit. I'm working my ass off for the love of the music. I'm a hero!

But darn it. Some of the music on dailysp was specifically given from Billy Corgan to fans with the message to spread it online. I have a couple of concerts from Zwan too. They're open taping. They encourage fans to tape their shows and spread them.

The artist tells me to spread the music. And the lawyer tells me to stop. Don't tell me he's got the artist's interest at heart. Maybe the record company.

But anyway. Mr legal person was nice and polite. And not swayed by any emotional arguments. I'm still waiting for a reply to my second email but I'm pretty sure I'll have to take my mp3s down. 2 years work on dailysp down the drain. But I can't afford to be sued. It's not like I can take a legal battle or fight for my rights or anything. I can't even explore the possibility. I can just crumble and fold.

There was a case some years back about two boys who put up mp3s or links to them or so. That was real music piracy. And they were prosecuted. Harshly. They were kids. One of them killed himself after they were sentenced to pay a huge fine. I feel like killing myself to make that legal advisor feel bad. That would show him! Well, he's probably a cold terminator like machine. He doesn't care that my life is 90% suck and he just made it 5% worse.

I hate my life.

Incidentally I ordered Zwan's new single and album today. Too bad I got the email after that. Maybe I should have pirated them instead. If I'm such a copyright violator. It's not like the mp3s aren't all over the net. I purposely didn't download the album. So KODA can get their share of the money. This is the kind of thing that makes me want to not buy another CD ever again. Fans sharing live music is something a band should be happy about. Encourages the love, spreads the word. Damn it.

Sigh.

Also I'm worried that I'm swinging my arms back and forth too much when I walk. I have to watch out for that. I don't want to get a repuation as "the guy who swings his arms back and forth too much when he walks". You know?

Work went okay. Bought vegetables at Bazar Vest. The guy there is really nice. He doesn't mind getting all the stuff we need. We give him the note and he gets it all for us. And he always gives me freebies. Like a pear or some nutties. Today he gave me some weird arabic banana-flavoured milk. It was a little on the sweet side. But banana flavour rules.

It never fudding ends.
