Hoi there. I realize my last two entries have been sort of iffy. First a SmarterChild conversation and then an endless survey. So to make up for that I have brought something to sacrifice to the diaryland deities (yes, that's you). A picture of myself. I don't like pictures of myself, for obvious reasons, so you should be honoured. Or something. Anyway, that's me sleeping. Or very close to it. Taking a nap. Like I love to do.

I don't know why girls always want beautiful and dangerous guys. Really, I think you should all go find some peaceful and adorable boy and make him happy with kisses and cuddles. And let the dangerous boys drive their motorcycles over large cliffs.

That's Alfons Åberg. Alfons is the man. And I mean that in a cool hip-hop sort of way. Seriously though, every kid should read or have read to him/her the Alfons Åberg books. And they should watch the cartoon too. That's real child entertainment. It's good for the mind and the soul. I think he's a Scandinavian thing though. You've probably never heard of him in the big scary world abroad?

I took that picture yesterday when I stumbled upon the show by accident. I don't watch enough kid's television these days. But that episode is the BEST! It is. His dad is too busy to play with him so he plays with his imaginary friend there. And they build a train and "borrow" daddy's pipe. I didn't stay and watch it though. I should have. There's another one where they build an airplane I think. And fly into the jungle or something. That must have been the best one come to think of it. If they weren't the same one. Good memories, but my memory isn't what it used to be.

Also, those cartoons have the BEST Danish narrator. His voice is just perfect. I'm sure we all have our little things, people, places, books or whatever that brings us right back to our childhood. That voice is one of mine. When I hear that I'm just 10 years old again. It's a thing of beauty. This man with a deep but soft voice.

Alfie Atkins. That's Alfons's English name apparently. I never knew that. Hehe, his Spanish name is Alfonso. And Alphonse in French. Cute. Ifan Bifan in Welsh. Alfons Alfrink in Dutch. Professor Frink anyone?
