a fish in the water (the music appreciation entry)

Nipples.

Sorry.

My mind was elsewhere. Wednesday is but a splinter in the mind's eye. Nothing too much happened. Work went by without any fuzz. Salla stopped by. I always like that. He's a good kid. He got a new job. Cab driver. That was always his dream. I'm happy for him. He was practically bragging that it was "on the side". How do you say that in English? When you evade taxes? In Denmark we call it "black work". I guess because you do it at night so no one finds out. Yeah, that makes sense. Anyway, I hope he doesn't get in any legal trouble. Maybe he was joking around. I don't think so though. We had a little roughhousing too. We were walking towards each other and he pretended to sort of attack me and I pretended to sort of defend myself. Fun. A little physical contact. Playing around with the guys. Normality.

Then Bent the Boss came to me and asked if I had any pictures from the culture day. My photo journalism. They made a DVD or something and they need a picture to use for the cover. René the heathen soldier with the teen model daughter had lost most of the pictures he had taken that day. So I'm bringing mine in tomorrow. I don't think any of them are really too suitable for a dvd cover but hey, better than nothing I guess. They should give me a free copy of the dvd to thank me. And a dvd player to play it on. Why won't anyone ever give me a dvd player? It doesn't make sense.

And that was work. Then I went home and served myself iced drinks and enjoyed the sunshine. A beautiful day in the neighbourhood.

It's now (almost) official. Zwan are coming to Denmark. According to zwan.de they will be playing Roskilde on June 29th. Roskilde where I have family. The 29th when I'll probably be having vacation. Argh. I always said that if they came to Denmark I had to see them. But I don't think I'm ready for a festival yet. Roskilde is one of the biggest festivals in the world. And I know I'm making excuses. But I don't think I can. I hope I won't end up kicking myself over it. I hope Zwan will come to Denmark again. A year from now. A normal concert. In Aarhus. I'm sure fate will hand it to me on a golden platter so I won't have to work for it. Life is like a shooting star.

Well, we'll see. I wish I could go though. Confirmed bands so far include Kashmir, Blur, Coldplay and Mew. And then presumably Zwan soon. Damn that would be amazing. Bjork, Metallica, The Cardigans, Outlandish, Dave Gahan. Music. Live music. Actual live music instead of mp3s. I can hardly imagine how amazing it would be. But I can imagine how hard it would be to spend 3 days in a crowd of 100,000 people.

Music is my aeroplume. I'd love to see Mew too. I'm getting hooked on them. I remember hearing a big hit they had in Denmark years ago and thinking they were just slightly boring pop. And now I've been listening to Comforting Sounds for weeks it seems. They are great. Skye loves it too, she said. I like that. Sharing music. Saybia. Memories.

I love music so much. I hope some day I will be able to go to a festival. Spend days just swimming in symphonies of sound. Beauty beauty beautiful music. The sound of love.

One day, some day.

In the meantime I got some new mp3s. New shows. Hehe. I got an acoustic Avril Lavigne show. Hehehee. I usually don't follow the "put down Avril Lavigne" line of thought. But hehe. This isn't very good. Hehe. You live and you learn. I Got a Bush show too. Hehe.

Nah, the Bush show is actually good. Lots of people put Bush down too. Especially in the pumpkins community. And truth to be told I think they've gone downhill. But their two first albums still hold a lot of powerful memories for me. Those old songs still hold up. I can still vividly remember that one time, sitting on my bed, my blanket over my head, screaming along to Cold Contagious and hating my dad. I'm sure I've told that one before. Classic teen angst. You were never that around.

And then a Live show. Live, the band. I love a lot of their songs. If they could add a little extra then they would be a great band. Getting a little monotonous instead. They don't make them like they used to.

I wanna dance with you, I see a sky full of the stars that change our minds, and lead us back to a world we would not face.

If I ruled the world I would make everyone listen to music. And I would make them listen untill they loved it. And then let them listen by their own choice. Conquer and divide. Rule by music.

Oh, we got VH1 again now. On my cable. As a test channel, it'll be gone in 2 weeks. I don't really like VH1 that much. But after just two days I already appreciate it for the fact that it's tons better than MTV. I'm getting old. I wish I could get M2 or whatever that alternative MTV station is. I remember back in the olden days when I first got cable tv. I used to watch MTV all the time. Now I just can't stand it. MTV Europe died the day they decided to regionalize it. For me, anyway.

Gintberg. But enough about me. How are you all?
